To advertise the suffragettes meeting last Saturday, the words ”Votes for Women” followed by an announcement of the meetings had been chalked upon the pavements in the town [Skegness].
One of these in a prominent position was altered to ”Ropes for Women”, which caused much amusement to passers-by. Mr Asquith would probably concurr.
