Skegness Man's Mysterious Connection with Notorious Murderer

This letter to the editor in 1881 is rather a mystery!

Alfred Hampson, of the New Skegness Pavilion, thought it his bounden duty to communicate with the heads of Scotland Yard, all the facts that he knew concerning the man Lefroy Mapleton.

Percy Lefroy Mapleton was the notorious British “railway murderer” of 1881!

It must, for the moment, remain a mystery of how a Skegness man was connected with such a man, until I find the issues of The Era referred to in the letter below!
