Lumley Square Enclosure


The Surveyor reported that in accordance with instructions he, on the 3rd inst., enclosed that portion of land in front of Mr. Barlow’s shop and the Lumley Hotel which was handed over to the town by the Earl of Scarbrough some years ago, and which was formerly occupied by a fountain and grass plot. The enclosure commenced at 7.15 a.m., and terminated at 7.15 p.m. The enclosure was ‘or the purpose of maintaining the right of the Council to the said land.

The report was adopted.
