For the first time in history, Skegness’ Jolly Fisherman ran in the 26 mile London Marathon on Sunday.
And what is more, the Mayor of Skegness, Cllr Ron Scott, lent Jolly his Rolls Royce with number plate ‘RUN 1’ in which to make the trip to London.
The sponsorship raised will be equally divided between the Mayor’s nominated charity, the British Heart Foundation, and the Andrew Amber Memorial Fund. On this special occasion, Jolly was in fact Mike Freeman assisted by Alan Yost.
