One of the most enormous skates ever seen was caught at Skegness on Monday last, and purchased by Mr T Pridmore, fishmonger, of Stamford, in whose shop it is exhibited.
It weighed 119lbs without the entrails, and the liver was 14lbs.
The quality notwithstanding the size, is excellent. – Stamford Mercury.
