Seal Captured

A beautiful seal appeared on a sand-bank at Skegness on Thursday the 2d inst, and was secured (after some resistance) by some gentlemen then visiting the new hotel there. The fish, which weighed about 6 stone, was put into a pond of salt water near the sea bank, where it seemed to enjoy itself; but on the tide coming up on Saturday evening, it escaped over the bank to its home—the ocean.

Note: The ‘new hotel’ was the Hildred’s Hotel.
