When Skegness Had Two Piers

After the Dutch schooner, Europa, ploughed into the pier on 20 March 1919, a ‘temporary’ bridge was made across the gap, which stood for twenty years.

The picture shows the temporary ‘pier’ on the left and the permanent work being carried out on the original pier, early in 1939.
