Skegness Grammar School Former Teachers

THIS photograph of Mr. Kenneth George Spendlove, who retired as headmaster of Skegness Grammar School at the end of last term, and Miss F. Lucas, senior mistress, was specially taken as a memento of their long association before Mr. Spendlove left for his new home at Fleet, Hants.

Miss Lucas was on the teaching staff of Magdalen College School, Wainfleet, during the 10 years that Mr. Spendlove was headmaster there, and was one of the first teachers to be appointed to the staff of the Skegness Grammar School after Mr. Spendlove had been made headmaster on the opening of the school in September, 1933. They are seen here outside the main entrance to the School. Mr. Spendlove’s successor, Mr. C. G. Ferguson, will take up his duties when the school reopens for the Autumn term on Monday next.

Photograph by Mrs. A. E. Wrate Lumley Road, Skegness.
