Local Lady Harpist
We understand that Miss Carrie Shelley, a daughter of Councillor J H Shelley, has been engaged to appear at the Queen’s Hall, London, in October next.
Miss Shelley is a harpist of considerable ability, and although she is only 16 years of age, will rank amongst the best of the performers on the instrument.
This will be Miss Shelley’s first public apperarance, and she will play upon a Gothic harp, valued at £800, which was presented to her father by the Duchess of Marlborough.
Mr Shelley himself is an expert performer on the harp, and he has appeared on several occasions before Royalty.
