Old High Street Houses Demolished

Old cottages being demolished in 1933 to make way for the present Gas Showrooms and public lavatories. Day’s tea-room is on the left and a wall advertisement directs traffic to turn right in High Street for the RAOB (“Buffaloes”) club. The small board says the Tower Theatre was screening “There Goes the Bride,” and “Hold’em Jail.”
