AN AUCTIONEER is being sought for markets in Spilsby and Louth.
For many years the cry of the Auctioneer has been a real focal point at both markets, Spilsby on a Monday and Louth on a Wednesday.
Since the Auctioneer vacancy arose last week (January 21, 2008), East Lindsey District Council has been searching for a replacement to carry on the tradition. Each week the auction is crammed with surplus local produce and bric-a-brac.
Trading Team Leader at East Lindsey District Council, David Honman, said a number of incentives are available to encourage people to come forward: “We are fully aware and recognise the importance of the markets and auctions across East Lindsey. The auction is where visitors and residents gather to barter for produce and goods, which provides the perfect traditional market scene. It is important that we encourage people to come forward,” he explained.
If you are interested in taking on the Auctioneer’s role, please contact David on 08446 601111 or Brian Saunders on 07958 805457.
